Our credit union has served North Bay for over 40 years. Today we’re proud to continue that commitment as WFCU.

Branches have moved, names have changed, and communities have grown. You may not recognize our name yet but you already know the credit union behind it and we’re proudly investing in what’s next for North Bay.

In 1982, the Ontario Government North Bay Credit Union opened its doors to civil servants.  Decades later, we proudly serve individuals, families and businesses at our local Banking Centre on 945 Stockdale Rd.

We know that trust is earned over time. For many people in North Bay, that trust was built through familiar staff, everyday conversations, and years of helping members with mortgages, savings, loans, business needs, and day-to-day banking. As WFCU, our role is to continue and improve that service in a way that feels familiar, helpful, and grounded in the community. WFCU Place is one investment that reflects our belief that financial institutions have the responsibility to strengthen the places our Members call home.

Continuing to Support the Community

WFCU Place is also part of this continued connection to North Bay. Naming the new community recreation centre is one way for WFCU to give back to this thriving community.

The new community recreation centre at the Steve Omischl Sports Complex on Lakeshore Drive will be a daily destination for North Bay residents.  With two ice pads, a walking track, a large community room, and dressing rooms, it is expected to support a wide range of local activities, from practices, games, community programs, and meetings. Great times spent with family and neighbours.

We are proud to have our name connected to this facility, but we also understand that WFCU Place belongs to the people who use it, who volunteer, who cheer from the stands, and who walk the track.

It belongs to North Bay. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
