Assistant Vice President, Payments - Flexible

WFCU’s card payments portfolio provides a unique opportunity to provide its members with products and services suited to meet their needs. WFCU is seeking its first Assistant Vice President (AVP), Payments.

Reporting to the SVP, Operations, the AVP leads a small but mighty team with overall responsibility for WFCU’s card payments portfolio including credit, prepaid & debit cards. The AVP develops and executes the strategy to launch prepaid and credit MasterCard products and ensures the proper integration of all card products into WFCU’s retail delivery model. The AVP also leads the credit union’s payments modernization initiatives.

The ideal candidate brings a university degree in a relevant field in addition to a minimum of 8 years of experience leading teams and implementing projects and developing use case scenarios in another financial institution. Commercial Account Manager – Windsor / Leamington / Chatham / London / Kitchener / Toronto

As a Commercial Account Manager, you are responsible for managing an assigned commercial portfolio and to assist with the overall growth of personal as well as commercial members.

In summary, the Commercial Account Manager will:

  • Grow our business and actively develop and manage the commercial portfolio.
  • Assist, develop and implement business development initiatives to increase revenues.
  • Address member needs and concerns in a timely manner to develop and maintain strong relationships

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing an assigned commercial portfolio consisting of commercial mortgages, loans, lines of credit, letters of credit, construction, land and demand loans to meet borrowing needs.
  • Making sound recommendations within lending policies and procedures.
  • Develop new business by contacting prospects and members and networking in community activities outside of normal business hours
  • Ongoing relationship building with existing members and prospects.
  • Preparing proposals as well as credit applications for review and approval.
  • Ensuring the assigned credit union’s loan portfolio earns a maximum return while taking the least amount of risk.
  • Monitoring assigned loan portfolios, delinquencies and overdrafts.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for include the following:

  • Strong sales acumen with proven results.
  • A commitment to professional service, networking, relationship building and retention.
  • Post-secondary education in a business and/or finance related field.
  • Minimum three to five years of commercial lending experience in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending in various industries and sectors.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments, mainly Credit Risk to deliver solutions.
  • Strong financial statements analysis, review of 3rd party documents including but not limited to Appraisal, Building Condition, Phase I and II Environmental Reports, leases etc.
  • Strong communication, people, problem solving interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Self motivated and results oriented.
  • Flexibility for occasional travel.

The Loan & Leasing Administrator is responsible for providing excellent service and administrative support to the Fulfillment Team.

In summary, the Loan & Leasing Administrator will:

  • Audit incoming loan/lease documents
  • Process loan/lease payouts and refunds
  • PPSA registration and release
  • Process vehicle accident and death claims

Systems Developer – Windsor / Kitchener / Toronto

As a Systems Developer, you will be responsible for developing a variety of applications to streamline workflows and improve the member experience, accuracy and efficiencies.

In summary, the Systems Developer will:

  • Develop dynamic online forms (accessible through a corporate intranet) which require writing to and reading from Microsoft SQL databases to satisfy complex business reporting processes.
  • Development will also focus on shell enabled applications running in proprietary Windows-based applications including our member relationship management (MRM) system, corporate accounting system and our banking system.
  • Work alongside key stakeholders in the organization to ensure applicants meet the end users’ specifications.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards and data security best practices.
  • Have responsibility for developing a variety of applications to streamline processes.
  • Assist with development to improve the exchange of data between our Sales team and Operations team.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • Must possess a degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience in developing applications in a Microsoft environment is important.
  • Programming experience should include C#, .NET (framework & core), ASP.NET MVC Core, IIS, SQL Server, SSRS, Microsoft Azure, and Azure Devops
  • Other web development related skills, such as JavaScript, CSS, JQuery, Git, and familiarity with other programming languages or technologies is considered an asset.

Temporary Enterprise Analytics Specialist – Windsor / Kitchener / Toronto

The Enterprise Analytics Specialist supports the credit union by driving strategic, data-informed business decisions. This role involves gathering and preparing data for analysis, identifying key variables, and translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.

In summary, the Enterprise Analytics Specialist will:

  • Analyze complex data by using their intermediate to advanced expertise in data mining, Business Intelligence, data modelling
  • Apply knowledge of sales and product information and data across multiple lines of business to identify operational insights and key factors that are driving business performance

As the successful candidate, you’ll have responsibility for:

Assistant Branch Manager - Toronto

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you will provide assistance operating the retail location.  You will conduct daily team meetings and direct, coordinate, motivate and coach the non-management sales staff to meet assigned sales goals and sales activity targets.

In summary, the Assistant Branch Manager will:

  • Meet required sales goals as established by the credit union.
  • Develop and implement plans and programs to ensure sales goals of the retail location are met.
  • Establish regular coaching schedules with assigned staff to assist in their development at WFCU Credit Union.
  • Assist with the overall operation of the retail location.
  • Meet with members to assess their needs and match products/services to meet those needs.
  • Meet with employees regularly to mentor and coach staff in their sales activity and professional development.
  • Act as the treasury custodian for the retail location and be responsible for cash and securities related processes.
  • Have responsibility for risk management and retail premises.
  • Have responsibility for the administrative functions of the retail location.
  • Ensure compliance of the retail employees with risk management practices, policies, etc.
  • Operate with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • A solid knowledge of financial products and services.
  • Post-secondary education in finance or business.
  • Previous experience in a managerial position.
  • Three years experience in the financial services industry is required.
  • Strong ability to successfully motivate a team to achieve sales goals.

The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing excellent service to our membership.

In summary, the Customer Service Representative will:

  • Respond to external member inquires in a timely, professional manner

The Financial Services Representative is responsible for providing excellent service to our membership.

As a Financial Services Representative, you will:

  • Contribute to the success of the retail location through the achievement of established sales goals and objectives.
  • Provide quality service to our members by assessing their needs and identifying credit union products and services to best meet those needs.
  • Increase service relationships held by members to meet established targets.
  • Promote and process investments including Investment Shares, GICs, RRSPs, RRIFs, and TFSAs.
  • Drive mortgage product promotion while consistently meeting and exceeding individual sales goals.
  • Promote and process lending products including personal loans, lines of credit, overdraft protection, and applicable insurances.
