Commercial Account Manager - Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge

As a Commercial Account Manager, you are responsible for managing an assigned commercial portfolio and to assist with the overall growth of personal as well as commercial members with a specific focus in real estate lending (term and construction) and ideally some experience in greenhouse financing.

Position Type: Vacant Position

Salary Range: $90,000-$140,000

In summary, the Commercial Account Manager will:

  • Grow our business and actively develop and manage the commercial portfolio (real estate secured term and construction loans including greenhouses).
  • Assist, develop and implement business development initiatives to increase revenues.
  • Address member needs and concerns in a timely manner to develop and maintain strong relationships.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing an assigned commercial portfolio consisting of commercial mortgages, loans, lines of credit, letters of credit, construction, land, and demand loans to meet borrowing needs.
  • Making sound recommendations within lending policies and procedures.
  • Develop new business by contacting prospects and members and networking in community activities outside of normal business hours.
  • Ongoing relationship building with existing members and prospects.
  • Preparing proposals as well as credit applications for review and approval.
  • Ensuring the assigned credit union’s loan portfolio earns a maximum return while taking the least amount of risk.
  • Monitoring assigned loan portfolios, delinquencies, and overdrafts.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for include the following:

  • Strong sales acumen with proven results.
  • A commitment to professional service, networking, relationship building and retention.
  • Post-secondary education in a business and/or finance related field.
  • Minimum three to five years of commercial lending experience in the financial services industry with a focus on real estate lending and ideally some greenhouse financing.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending in various industries and sectors.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments, mainly Credit Risk to deliver solutions.
  • Strong financial statements analysis, review of 3rd party documents including but not limited to Appraisal, Building Condition, Phase I and II Environmental and Project Monitor Reports, leases etc.
  • Strong communication, people, problem solving interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Self motivated and results oriented.

Director, Financial Risk Management / Kitchener-Waterloo / Toronto / Windsor

As the Director, Financial Risk Management, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organization’s financial risk management strategies are effective, efficient, and aligned with business objectives. You will collaborate with the regulatory compliance team as well as cross-functional departments and provide strategic direction to enhance risk mitigation and compliance.

Salary Range: $95,000 – $145,000

In summary, Director, Financial Risk Management will:

  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the company’s financial risk management framework, policies, and strategies.
  • As a second line of defense function, support and apply an effective challenge function relative to first line of defense and work collaboratively with the third line of defense.
  • Support the Senior Risk Officer and senior leadership in maintaining an appropriate risk appetite framework, including evaluation of ongoing suitability of our risk appetite, key risk indicators, Board and Management limits, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the identification, assessment, and monitoring of financial risks across the organization.
  • Analyze, monitor and report on trends and insights from the measurement of key financial risk indicators, providing insights and recommendations to the Senior Risk Officer and senior management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial risk considerations are integrated into business plans of the first line of defense, new products and new initiatives, including performing critical review of business cases developed by the first line of defense.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on financial risk management principles and compliance requirements, including providing support to the first line in the application of the risk appetite framework in business activities and decision making.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes, incorporating insights into financial risk strategies.
  • Represent the organization in financial risk management and compliance discussions with external stakeholders.
  • Identify the need to implement new financial models/techniques for risk management as WFCU matures its governance, industry standards evolve and regulatory requirements change.
  • Working with SRO and others, establishing a model risk and vetting framework for WFCU, and working with others in the risk team as appropriate, perform validation of financial models in alignment with emerging requirements and with consideration of risk.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned.

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of proven and progressive financial risk management experience including but not limited to risk considerations associated with credit risk at a portfolio level, market risk, capital, liquidity funding and other financial risk considerations.
  • Strong knowledge of financial risk management concepts and principles including the intersection with regulatory requirements.
  • Strength in collaboration, cross functional relationship building and in leading teams and projects, with an ability to mentor and develop staff
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
  • Experience working within risk management programs undergoing change and the ability to work in an environment with changing needs and priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Strong acumen in financial risk assessment tools and data analysis.

  • Experience in a leadership role within financial risk management.
  • Experience in the assessment of operational risks.
  • Experience in financial services, banking, or related industries is preferred.

Manager, Community Investment - Windsor

The Manager, Community Investment, is responsible for the strategic leadership, planning, measurement and governance of WFCU’s Community Investment program across Ontario. Treasury Analyst - Windsor / Kitchener-Waterloo / Toronto

The Treasury Analyst plays a key role in supporting the credit union’s liquidity management, funding strategy, interest rate risk management and financial performance analysis. This position is ideal for an analytically strong, self-motivated professional who thrives on transforming complex data into meaningful insights.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $92,000

In summary, the Treasury Analyst will

  • Leverage data analytics tools such as Power Bl, Tableau and/ or Python to enhance treasury reporting
  • Develop dashboards and automated reports to translate complex financial and treasury data that will support executive decision-making, budgeting and strategic financial planning
  • Improve forecasting accuracy, and provide actionable business intelligence to senior management
  • Support daily liquidity management and cash flow forecasting
  • Support Securitization, funding and capital markets activities as needed
  • Assist in monitoring and managing interest rate risk, investment portfolios, and funding sources
  • Prepare asset-liability management (ALM) and liquidity reports and support regulatory reporting requirements
  • Analyze trends in deposits, loans, margins, and funding costs
  • Support the enhancement, maintenance, and validation of Treasury and ALM models, including assumptions and methodologies
  • Assist in stress testing and scenario modeling
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and performance drivers through large data set analysis
  • Support management decision-making with scenario analysis and predictive modeling
  • Assist in developing KPls and performance metrics aligned with strategic objectives
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Treasury and Finance
  • Recommend and implement process improvements across ALM and Treasury reporting workflows
  • Assist in reviewing and updating Treasury policies, procedures, and guidelines to reflect balance sheet growth and industry standards

The “must-have” skills and qualifications that we’re looking for are

  • Demonstrated experience using critical thinking skills to conduct financial and numerical analysis
  • Solid understanding of statistical analysis, modeling techniques, financial management and financial risk concepts
  • Strong aptitude to learn new software and computer platforms
  • Demonstrated experience working with large datasets and automating reporting processes
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to support multitasking while effectively prioritizing
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while communicating effectively with the team
  • An undergraduate degree in Economics, Finance, Math or Statistics or an MBA
  • A CPA/CA, CRM or CFA designation in progress or in good standing
  • A minimum of three (3) years of related experience gained through work or experiential learning

The Assistant Manager, Retail Operations is responsible for enhancing operational efficiency, strengthening administrative oversight, and improving consistency across locations.

Position Type: New Position

Salary Range: $55,000 – $85,000

In summary, Assistant Manager, Retail Operations will:

  • Provide direct supervision and leadership for all non sales staff in the branch
  • Foster a high performance, accountable and service focused team environment
  • Ensure comprehensive onboarding and ongoing training
  • Ensure branch compliance with all operational, audit and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee all branch administrative functions

As Branch Manager you are responsible for leading daily retail operations, driving financial growth and business development, and expanding our presence in the town of Leamington. Our Branch Manager plays a critical role in the daily oversight of our retail location with respect to quality, sales, member service and coaching team members.

As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for:

  • Planning, developing and actioning successful business development plans.
  • Monitoring weekly, monthly, and semi-annual sales plans.

  • Providing basic financial planning and investment advice to our members.
  • Preparing personal lending, residential mortgages, and/or member contracts.
