The credit union has also supported the Habitat for Humanity Chatham RiverRun, Crowfest, the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation Benefit Gala, the Chatham Goodfellows Halloween Spooktacular, and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Christmas Wish Tree campaign.

Dresden Night Market

Since 2017, the Dresden Night Market has turned downtown Dresden into a unique outdoor shopping experience held for one night each July and November. Named one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals and Events, the Dresden Night Market brings the community together for the sake of supporting all things local. In 2024, WFCU provided funding for the new window at the Pop-Up Bar. Proceeds from the bar support Dresden Sidestreets Youth Centre and Dresden Legion Branch 113.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation: Christmas Wish Tree

For 35 years, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation Christmas Wish Tree has allowed the community to honour loved ones while funding crucial advancements in local healthcare. In 2024, the campaign raised nearly $160,000 in support of the hospital’s most pressing needs. WFCU has been the proud presenting sponsor of the campaign since 2023.

Essex and Kent Scottish Borderers Foundation

In honour of our Chatham Grand Opening, WFCU contributed $50,000 to the Essex and Kent Scottish Borderers Foundation’s ‘Service, Sacrifice and Duty’ capital fundraising campaign. The campaign was launched to ensure the sacrifices of those who served are remembered for generations.

Chatham Goodfellows: Halloween Spooktacular Party

For over 70 years, the Chatham Goodfellows have helped make the Holidays a special time for children and families in need through the “No Child Without a Christmas” Campaign. Since 2023, WFCU has sponsored their annual Halloween Spooktacular Party, which raises funds for the campaign. The Chatham Goodfellows are always ready to help those in need to ensure there is “No Child Without a Christmas.”

Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation raises funds and awareness for the Chatham-Kent Hospice, helping families experience meaningful moments at the end of life. WFCU has sponsored several events hosted by the foundation, including Hike for Hospice, an all-ages fundraising Hike, and the Hospice Benefit Gala, an elegant and inspiring charitable celebration. Through our support, WFCU has been named an Encouragement Donor.
