Spring at the Credit Union has been budding with wonderful community events, from Windsor to Waterloo! Full of Easter fun and local Spelling Bee competitions, we already can’t wait for all the fun in store for 2025.
Scripps Regional Spelling Bee
We have two W-I-N-N-E-R-S!
Hosted in Waterloo on February 11th and in Windsor on March 24th, we’re thrilled to announce our impressive winners, Arshan S. and Issac B. After numerous rounds of competition at each event, we would like to congratulate all our participants, first-time fourth-grade winner, Arshan S., as well as offer a special congratulations to our two-time winner, Issac B.!
Along with taking home a $200 scholarship, we will be sending both champions to Washington, DC. in May to compete for the Scripps National Spelling BeeTM title.
WFCU Egg Drop and ECU Egg Hunt
With the Easter Bunny in attendance to meet and greet over 800 children and families, we hosted our first-ever Egg Hunt events in the Kitchener-Waterloo region and helicopter Egg Drop in Windsor!
Partnering with the City of Kitchener to organize 3 Egg Hunt events at local community centres, and the Town of LaSalle for a morning of showering over 25,000 colourful toy eggs from the sky by helicopter, children were invited to fill their bags or baskets and collect toy eggs in exchange for Easter treats.
