As part of INSPIRE—WFCU Credit Union’s community engagement program—the Bee promotes literacy and language arts in a fun and engaging way and provides area youth from grades 4 to 8 with the opportunity to compete for a chance to represent the Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, and Sarnia-Lambton communities at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland.

2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee

At the 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee, 12-year-old Isaac tied for 192nd place. WFCU is incredibly proud of Isaac for his hard work and continued commitment to the spelling bee. Way to go, Isaac!

WFCU Credit Union Scripps Regional Spelling Bee

On March 24, 2024, after an exciting 15 rounds, WFCU Credit Union proudly announces the 2024 WFCU Scripps Regional Spelling Bee winner – Isaac Brogan from Maranatha Christian Academy! With 26 school champions competing this year, Isaac proved successful for the second year in a row after correctly spelling the winning word netiquette.

2025 WFCU Credit Union Scripps Regional Spelling Bee

To enroll your school for 2025, or to learn more about the bee, please email communityinvestment@wfcu.ca! The Bee helps students improve their spelling, increase their vocabularies, learn concepts, and develop correct English usage that will help them all their lives. In addition to the academic benefits, students also develop important life skills—like goal setting, time management, and public speaking—that will help them as they advance in school and eventually lead to successful careers.
