Scripps Spelling Bee Recap

The 2024 Scripps National Spelling Bee took place from May 27-31, 2024, in National Harbor, Maryland. The winners of the WFCU Credit Union and ECU – A Division of WFCU Credit Union regional spelling bees advanced to the national bee. Additionally, the pronouncer of the WFCU Bee, Craig Pearson, was named Regional Volunteer of the Year and attended Bee Week.

Isaac Brogan, two-time winner of the WFCU bee, tied for 192nd place at this year’s regional bee after misspelling the word Furneaux. Arshan Shariar, the winner of the ECU bee, tied for 60th place after spelling the word gavial incorrectly during the fourth round. We are incredibly proud of both of our finalists!
