Since 1993, Hospice Waterloo Region has served the community by providing hospice palliative care and bereavement support to individuals and their families affected by life-threatening illness. Hospice Waterloo Region’s premier fundraising event, Handbags for Hospice, is a night of glamour and generosity. ECU was a proud sponsor of the 2025 event, which raised over $200K for Hospice.

Our History in Cambridge, Kitchener & Waterloo

In 2020, WFCU Credit Union announced the acquisition of Education Credit Union, now known as ECU, expanding into Waterloo Region and its surrounding communities. With a foundation built on the cooperative values of putting the financial well-being of our members and community first, joining forces with ECU allowed both credit unions to deliver more to the members and communities we serve.

From supporting our personal members to helping small business owners and community organizations, our Kitchener, Cambridge, and Waterloo branches provide the highest-quality financial products, services and advice to help our members and the community meet and surpass their financial goals.
